Wisdom of the Ages through the Megillot (and Jonah)
Snacks and Study: Wisdom of the Ages through the Megillot (and Jonah)
Throughout the Jewish year, five books from the section of the Bible called “Writings” are connected to five different holidays. The Book of Jonah from the Prophets is often linked to these five given its association with Yom Kippur. This class is designed to explore the wisdom of these texts with particular attention to how they might help us to consider key questions about what it means to grow older.
We will meet from 3:00 pm– 4:30 pm, for six sessions on the 4th Monday of the month, starting Monday, October 28 (no meeting in December). Light snacks provided! Each session will focus on a specific book and will be organized around a big question that connects to themes of the holiday and our own life experiences as we grow older.
