Welcome to CBE

At CBE, membership is open to all who wish to explore their connection to Jewish culture, spirituality, religious practice, and education.

We strive to be absolutely inclusive—to provide access to to Judaism to individuals and families at every stage of life; to those who are Jews by birth, Jews by choice, and non-Jewish family members; to those who have led actively Jewish lives and those who are seeking to discover what Judaism means to them. We welcome and members of every gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, age, and ability.

Please complete this application in its entirety and a member of our team will be in touch with you right away. Membership and annual commitment information can be found on our website. We believe that the cost of membership should never prevent anyone from joining our congregation.

If you have any questions about your annual commitment, or would like to have a confidential conversation before you join, please contact Maribeth Batcha, our Director of Membership and Engagement, at mbatcha@cbebk.org or (718) 768-3814 x214.

Membership Category and Payment Information

Once you complete this application, you'll receive a statement for the standard annual commitment from our finance office and a welcome email from our Director of Members Services Maribeth Batcha, who will set up time for a welcome call with you.

Our membership year runs from July 1 to June 30 of each year. Members are automatically renewed, but not automatically charged.

Annual commitments are aged based. If there are two adults in your household, you will both be considered members. We feel that it's important for all family members to be welcomed and included at CBE's events, programs and services. In two adult households, commitments are charged based on the age of the elder adult member. If you have an adult member of your household who feels strongly that they not be considered a member, please let us know in the additional comments below.

CBE never wants financial considerations to be a barrier to membership. If you'd like to talk about receiving an adjusted commitment, please note that in the additional comments section below.

Tzedek Membership

In setting the standard annual membership commitment, CBE seeks to balance financial sustainability with wide accessibility to the community. The costs of running CBE are substantial; membership contributions cover a portion of the cost.

For those with the financial capacity, we offer the voluntary opportunity to contribute a total of $7,200 (instead of the standard commitment).
