The annual Brooklyn Jews Hanukkah Party is back! Join us at the Union Temple House for pre-Hanukkah festivities — In addition to an open bar, latkes, and sufganiyot, we are excited to offer a special crafting opportunity!

Rhea Stark, one of the co-founders of the Jewish Craft School, will join us and teach us how to create our own hand-dipped Hanukkah candles to take home.

Rhea Stark (she/her) is an artist, curator, and sometimes archaeologist based in Brooklyn, NY. Currently she is a doctoral student at Columbia University where she mostly reads and on good days writes about medieval Islamic and Jewish art, the material productions of heterodox faith communities, orientalism, and disability aesthetics. Rhea is also a researcher at the Met and has previously worked as a curatorial assistant and museum educator at the Brooklyn Museum and Met Cloisters. She is interested in fermentation, ceramics, and things buried beneath the surface of the earth. She lives in Brooklyn with her partner, David, and their dachshund, Earl.
