Grammy-winning composer and lyricist Herschel Garfein’s vocal music is characterized by dramatic immediacy and expressive, inventive melody. On January 11, he will share with us music and lyrics from his opera of Tom Stoppard’s Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, as well as excerpts from his celebrated song-cycle Mortality Mansions and songs he wrote for the AIDS Quilt Songbook.
