NY-10 Candidate Forum - Tuesday July 26 at 7:00 PM in the CBE Sanctuary and via livestream
Moderated by Senior Rabbi Rachel Timoner of CBE and Senior Political Correspondent Jacob Kornbluh of the Forward

Congregation Beth Elohim (CBE) is extremely excited to announce that in partnership with the New York Jewish Agenda (NYJA), the Forward, and the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York, we will be hosting a candidate forum for the NY-10 District.

The New York political landscape changed overnight when a state court judge approved new congressional maps for New York that dramatically redrew the lines for the 10th congressional district, creating an open seat for the lower half of Manhattan and parts of Brooklyn. No fewer than 11 candidates have thrown their hats in the ring for the Democratic primary on Tuesday, August 23, which almost certainly will determine who goes on to serve in Washington. The race includes a current and former member of the House, two who have served in the Assembly, a City Councilmember, the former Mayor of New York City, and an attorney who represented the House Judiciary Committee during the first impeachment of President Trump.

The winner will go on to represent a highly diverse community in a district that has the largest Jewish population of any congressional district in the nation. As you prepare to exercise your right to vote in the Democratic primary in NY-10, join us to hear the candidates address the crucial issues facing our city and our country, from inflation and the war in Ukraine to gun control, abortion, climate change, and the culture wars.

Please review CBE's COVID-19 policy prior to attending in person. This forum will be available via livestream on YouTube, Facebook, and cbebk.org/live.
