Kiddush Sponsorship
There are several ways you can choose to sponsor kiddush on Friday nights and Saturday mornings at CBE.
Friday nights: We kick off Shabbat in our Temple House lobby at 6:00 PM with a "Jewish happy hour" before services — a rotating assortment of savory treats along with wine and alcoholic beverages. Following Kabbalat Shabbat services in the chapel, we return to the lobby to say kiddush and motzi with wine, juice, cookies and challah.
Saturday mornings (sanctuary): Before services begin at 9:30 AM, we invite the community to enjoy coffee and bagels in the sanctuary from 8:45 – 9:15 AM. Saturday services conclude with a kiddush of challah, cookies, juice and bourbon.
Saturday mornings (Shir L’Shabbat): We conclude our weekly sing-along Shabbat gathering for the children 5 and under with a kiddush of juice and challah.
To sponsor our standard kiddush, we suggest a donation of $360, but community members can give what feels comfortable to them. All donations will help underwrite the expenses for our Shabbat gatherings and will ensure that we can celebrate together each and every week.
For special requests, please contact Amelia Kahaney, B'nei Mitzvah Coordinator, at least two weeks in advance.
Sponsors will be thanked in announcements, the weekly advisory, Friday's "How to Participate in Shabbat” email, and in the program at Saturday’s service (only if it is a B’nei Mitzvah weekend).
Multiple community members are welcome to sponsor the same kiddush.
