Two greats of jewish feminism: Judith Plaskow and Martha Ackelsberg at CBE 10/25

Join Rabbi Rachel Timoner in conversation with Judith Plaskow and Martha Ackelsberg about their almost-fifty years of Jewish feminist activism. They will reflect on their history of activism and on where Jewish feminism stands today.

Martha was a co-founder of Ezrat Nashim, the first Jewish feminist group of the second wave, which issued a Call for Change to the Conservative movement in 1972. Judith and Martha were both co-founders of B’not Esh, a Jewish feminist spirituality collective that has been meeting annually since 1981.

Judith is the author of Standing Again at Sinai, the first Jewish feminist theology, and they have each written numerous articles on LGBT issues in the Jewish community.
