Integrity First for America: An evening of conversation and song - February 5, 2020 7:00 PM

In August 2017, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and other far-right extremists descended on Charlottesville, VA -- orchestrating a weekend of violence that resulted in Heather Heyer's death and extensive injuries.

Immediately after the attack, attorney Roberta Kaplan partnered with Integrity First for America to spring into action using the best tool at their disposal: our justice system. Their landmark federal suit, Sines v. Kessler, takes on the neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and hate groups responsible for the violence, holding them accountable for their violent conspiracy. Trial is set for October 2020.

With anti-Semitism, racism, and other forms of bigotry on the rise, IFA's suit uniquely takes on the leadership of this extremist movement and makes clear that violence and hate have no place here. And in our Park Slope neighborhood, we affirm that through our words, our actions, and our voices raised in song.

Join us as Rabbi Rachel Timoner discusses this groundbreaking case with lead counsel Roberta Kaplan and Integrity First for America's Executive Director Amy Spitalnick. Then join Cantor Josh Breitzer and songleader Debbie Brukman in singing songs that will touch us, uplift us, and give us hope.

Co-sponsored by: Brooklyn Heights Synagogue, Councilmember Brad Lander, Jews for Racial and Economic Justice, Kane Street Synagogue, Kolot Chayeinu, New York Jewish Agenda, UJA-Federation of New York, Union Temple of Brooklyn, Park Slope Jewish Center
